Types of medical alarm systems |
Medical bed alarm hospitalAlarms found in medical beds in hospitals usually have a fixed receiver in a prominent position. They are activated by fixed position transmitters, for example cords and push buttons, within the user's home. These alarms sound a bell or buzzer, and/or a flashing or non-flashing lights.
Multiple transmitters can be placed at strategic positions in the house. Systems that, once activated, automatically release the door lock will enable a helper to enter the house. Advantages: cheap to install. Disadvantages: user must be within reach of the pull-cord or button; caregive must be within hearing/visual distance of the receiver. |
